About The Groomin Room

My name is Shirley Maginnis. I have been grooming for many years.I groom part time mornings and work in the vet clinic afternoons. I do have a lot of knowledge regarding skin issues, ear infections, and so on. Grooming your dog on a regular basis can alert health problems so an early diagnosis can be made. The longer you leave a problem the worse it will get.I will not dematt dogs. I feel it is very cruel. It also makes pets afraid to come in to the salon. Grooming should be a good experience for your pet.I do suggest bringing your pet in more often if maintenance at home is a problem.

Prices

Prices vary from dog to dog. Small dogs fee starts at $45.00 and up. Medium size dogs $60.00 and up. Large dogs $70.00 and up. Fees depend on coat length and condition. All grooming is subject to HST. Dont shoot the messenger!!

General Information

I am asked on occasion where to get a puppy. Remember to consider the costs of a puppy. All puppies small and large need professional training. How much time do you have for a puppy? Long haired requires grooming every 6-8 weeks. Short haired still needs ear cleaning, nails clipped and the occasional bath. Vaccines and vet checks to ensure healthy growth. There is a few sites that have breed selectors that will suggest the best breed for you. Just google breed selector. When you decide on a breed do your research, go to dog shows, talk to breeders. Breeders love to talk about their breed, if they dont go to another. There are many people breeding mixed breeds. I dont agree with this practice. Be carefull going this route you may not get what you bargained for. There is really good breeders out there who will be there for you for the life of your puppy. Need help Im happy to help.
